Chairman
I have been a Claytononian all my and got married in 1979 to my wife Diana and we have 2 daughters and have now been blessed with 7 grandchildren. I did move to Queensbury for over 40 years but always called at my parents house twice a day to make sure they were looked after. Sadly, they have now passed away and I moved back to my parents house in 2021. I have spent most of my working life in the export trade and have travelled extensively in Africa for over 20 years until my retirement in 2023. I feel that by retiring I am able to fully commit to putting something back into the community and make Clayton a better and safe place to live.
I was elected as Chairman at the Annual Meeting on Thursday 14th May 2026.

I moved into the village in early 2020 with my husband and 2 sons having lived nearby (Horton Bank Top) since 1999. Having visited Clayton over the years to see friends I have always loved it as a welcoming village feel. Being part of the Parish Council will help me to get more involved in the community, and make positive changes. I am passionate about keeping Clayton safe and peaceful for residents and visitors.

I have recently retired from my IT support role at the Yorkshire Building Society. I have worked the majority of my working life in financial services and the last 20 years in IT. My roles have included both project support, technical support and training.
I have been a parish councillor for over 10 years. I like that the council works to support our community and any initiatives that our local groups persue. I especially like those that support the children such as the cricket and football clubs.

I joined the Parish Council so that I may contribute to helping my community members in any way that I can within my remit. I have a natural persona to help people and this role will allow me to utilise this gift. I have a keen interest in neighbourhood policing matters, planning permission and highways matters affecting our village.
