Update from Parish Council Meeting on 21 May 2015

cpclogo_120x72On Thursday 21st May the first full Parish Council meeting of the newly elected Parish Council since the elections took place.  The routine agenda for this inaugural meeting requires the appointment of a new Chairman and Vice-Chairman.  Nominations were received for the appointment of Cllr Jean Pitts and Cllr Christopher Kaushal-Bolland to be elected as Chairman and Vice-Chairman respectively.

In addition, appointments were made to select Councillors to participate in various sub-groups. Further information on the sub-groups is available here and further information will be updated by each sub-group at future meetings.

The Parish Council has a number of vacancies available in both wards, Clayton West and Clayton East.  An application was received from Vena Hillyard and after consideration the Council accepted her application as a councillor. If you are interested in becoming a councillor for Clayton then please contact Claire Hepton in the first instance for an informal discussion.

The Clerk reported that the annual accounts for the last financial year 2014/15 had been independently audited and approved. These are available here.

The Council approved the purchase of 14 hanging baskets which will be placed in prominent positions around the village and we look forward to seeing the colourful blossoms come into bloom over the summer months. Some discussions were also held on the annual Clayton in Bloom competition and further details will appear on the website over the next couple of weeks.
